To Past, Present and Future Authors!

Authors,

LDSFreemen.com has merged with LDSLiberty.org, to bring the world the best articles, podcast episodes, and resources to “advance the cause of liberty in light of the restored Gospel.” You are receiving this email because you have, at one time or another, been invited to provide LDSFreemen.com with an original article. We would like to re-extend that invitation.

As part of the merge between these websites, we have made some important and exciting changes. First and foremost, we have “raised the bar” for article content and are calling for every article to be written from a gospel perspective, using references from the Standard Works and the teachings of the prophets and other church authorities. We seek to educate others on the principles of liberty while sharing the restored Gospel. We have also expanded the scope of articles that will be published. Topics that are now acceptable include:

Principles of freedom
Philosophy of liberty
“I seek not for power, but to pull it down”
Preservation of God-given rights
Respect for the agency of man
Provident living
Self-reliance
Emergency preparedness
Home storage
Disaster survival
Education
Health and Wellness

We believe that both the principles of freedom and provident living (as well as every other Gospel principle) are key to preserving and expanding our liberties today. Educating others on these principles is extremely important. We would also like to emphasize that not only do we want articles on these principles specifically, but also articles teaching these principles through commentary on current events.

In addition, once published, the author may have the opportunity to be interviewed by Jeremy, JC, and Brian to be featured in an exclusive podcast episode. Depending on length, an audio version of your article will also be exclusively podcast’d and published with the article. (These are read by me, however, we’re happy to use author-read audio versions.)

We hope that these changes will get you as excited as we are for the future of LDSLiberty.org, and motivate you to put pen to paper and commit to sending us articles on these important topics. (We welcome references to other Latter-day Saints that frequently write on these topics.)

Doing so is simple: You can log in to http://www.ldsliberty.org/wp-admin and submit the article through the standard editor. Once complete, you will save it with a status of “pending review”, sending the Web Editor, me,  a notification. I will edit the article, address any concerns I may have, and schedule it for publication. If you do not have an LDSLiberty.org user name, let me know and I will create one for you. If you prefer to write your article in an offline word processor, that’s fine. Once complete, you can email your files (article and author-read audio version, optional) to articles@ldsliberty.org. Both methods are acceptable.

We would also like to mention that there is an LDSLiberty.org discussion group (Google Groups) that can be used, among other things, as a resource for writing articles. If you would like membership in this group, let me know and I will add you. It’s as convenient as using email.

Thank you, and may God bless our efforts,

Skyler Collins
Web Editor, LDSLiberty.org
