Freedom Fest- LDS Debate

Should Mormons follow a particular political persuasion?

Author and LDS Liberty contributor Connor Boyack thinks so, and explains in his recently published book Latter-day Liberty: A Gospel Approach to Government and Politics that they should lean libertarian.

In July he’ll be making his case at a debate at Freedom Fest, debating fellow Latter-day Saints who adhere to other ideologies. Sutherland Institute president Paul Mero will make the case for Mormonism and conservatism being a better fit, while Rory Reid, son of Senator Harry Reid, will make the case for Mormonism and liberalism.

Freedom Fest organizer Mark Skousen (nephew of Cleon Skousen) is widely announcing this exciting debate, which is of particular interest given Mitt Romney’s path towards the presidency and the “Mormon moment” we find ourselves in through increased media attention.

This multi-day conference will feature many big-name speakers and exciting topics. Click here to learn more and consider attending!

Hope someone records the debate and puts it on youtube. I doubt I can be there (out of state with 3 very young children), but I really want to see it and hear it.
