Profile: Hugh W. Nibley (1910-2005) was a professor at Brigham Young University and an apologist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although his works—which mainly attempt to demonstrate archaeological, linguistic, and historical evidence for the claims of Joseph Smith, Jr.—have no official religious authority, they are highly regarded within the LDS community.
